The launch for the pop up boutique and gallery show at the Core@nolias gallery started today and will continue for one month. There is a small boutique at the front of the building and gallery which is placed at the back. The boutique has a selection of crafts from cards through to jewellery and textiles there are also clothes for sale as well. All will make great gifts for Christmas.
In the gallery there is a broad selection of art on show from photography, textile art, sculpture and fine art.
I have a collection of silver jewellery on display in the boutique, which has etched patterns on the front of some of the pieces.
During the private view which was both bustling and friendly, I had the opportunity to talk to some of the artists about their work. Angela Smith incorporates glass eyes into her pieces which are based around poetry. Sean Gavin O’Hara, also works with sculpture and relates the pieces to his own life. Tony Lee has a range of colourful prints in the gallery, Tsogt Otgonbayar is a visual artist based in London. Jennifer yang has some lovely pieces of textile art on display which change with natural light and the time of day. Jodi Redhouse is a photographer and is displaying a large piece. I also met Kat Libretto an artist from New Jersey who will be curating a show at the Core@nolias gallery from the 28Th November 2012. Zoe has curated the boutique and together with her family have put together a show with a lots of variety and there is lots to see.
