I have wanted to become a Fairtrade gold licencee for some time now, so was really pleased to get a licence. This means that I can now have fairtrade gold pieces of jewellery hallmarked with the Fairtrade hallmark, this is a development for me from the scheme I have joined for small jewellery companies who want to buy Fairtrade gold.
Being a Fairtrade gold licencee means that the gold that is used, is ethically sourced from mines: where the people who work there benefit from a raised standard of living for themselves and for their families too and they also work in conditions that have good health and safety.
