Over the weekend, I showcased a selection of contemporary silver jewellery at the Craft Central alternative wedding fair, which is called Get Hitched. I also had the opportunity to exhibit at the show last year and had a display on the lower ground floor. Although I was not able to attend one of the busiest evenings, which was the evening of the private view: I still had the opportunity to meet lots of couples, friends of the brides to be and family members visiting the show. Also there were people visiting who have a great interest in craft and were not there to see specific wedding items. Showing work from the studio where I work, was quite relaxing, I was able to continue with making as well as meeting visitors coming up to the studios. Overall it was fun, it was good to meet everyone who came into number 17a, also good to meet other exhibitors and I made progress with a new collection that I am currently working on.
The show overall, looked great, the two galleries were inviting and the display on the lower ground floor also looked good. There was a varied range of crafts; which included millenary, prints, jewellery, cards and wedding dresses. Even through the fair was during a very cold snap, people were still keen to visit, to get wedding ideas and to meet the crafts people attending the show.
Here is a selection of photos from the fair.
