I have wanted to visit Poland for a long time and had the opportunity several months ago in 2014 to visit a historic town, called Gdansk. The majority of the town had been bombed during the war and during the 1950’s and 1960’s the town was recreated to how it looked before. The town is very picturesque and has a main street with many shops selling amber and at the end of the street is an Amber museum. I was interested to see some amber that had been made into round matt beads through melting and merging the Amber into spheres. The pieces looked very contemporary. It was also good to see the skilled craftsmanship of the jeweller’s there.
