Last week I flew out to Amsterdam to take part in a jewellery event called Sieraad, I heard about Sieraad a while ago and was really excited when I heard that I was to take part in a international show.

It was quite a short flight to get to Amsterdam and once there, first checked into the hotel and later spend some time setting up the stand for the show.

The exhibition was in a beautiful building and the show looked very elegant, with beautiful displays. The ceiling of the building was also quiet unusual.

The event took place over four days and many people visited the show. There was a great variety of jewellery at the show from fine jewellery by Petra Eberz, bronze jewellery by Elena Camilla Bertellotti, Glass jewellery by Davide Penso, ceramic jewellery by Maria Diana, Metal jewellery that looked like lace by Clizia Ornato: Large sculptural pieces by Maureen Ngoc My, colourful perpex jewellery by Sue Gregor and brightly coloured jewellery by the Chroma collective (Lana Crabb, Amanda Trimmer, Amy Logan and Ruth Laird.) There were over 150 exhibitors at Sieraad. I even had a chance to see a bit of Amsterdam before and after the show.

Also liked the hotel where I stayed which had a heated bathroom floor, which was quite a luxury.

It made a real change to exhibit in a new venue and it was also good fun to meet so many jewellery designers from all over the world.
