Open studio event on-line

I am looking forward to my first ever virtual studio West event. The current pandemic is having a huge impact on art and craft events around the country, many of which have moved on-line. The new event I am taking part in is through Creative Network West. This is a brand new organisation, catering for the borough of Hounslow.

Creative enterprise zone

Hounslow was recently awarded funding from the Mayor of London: and is one of six creative zones in London. This is fantastic news for the borough. One of the outcomes is the creation of the new annual open studio event. It is for visual artists, craftspeople and designers who either live or work in the area. The event takes part from the 27TH June and continues until the 5TH July 2020. There will be a on-line gallery and will also be taking place on social media. Visitors will have the opportunity to see a wonderful array of work in different disciplines. Hounslow is a very creative borough and it is fantastic that this will be highlighted through the exhibition. I am looking forward to seeing everyone’s work. For the virtual show all participants have put together a short video, which is one minute in duration. This has been a learning curve as I have not made a video before. However it has been great fun.  You can read more about the event at:

Artists Pledge

For the event I am aiming to take part in the artists pladge, which has been created by Mathew Burrows and is also supported by the Crafts Council. It was set up on the 10TH March in response to the Coronavirus. Each sale will be under £200.00. When artists make £1000 they will in turn buy another artists work for £200.00. This can also be a donation to a particular concern.
